8-Bit Nintendo track - forward turns to deal

Post by VanderBoegh » Wed Jun 01, 2016 7:52 pm

I went 3-for-3 on the recent 8-bit listing, and was just contacted by the library owner with an offer yesterday. They want to take one of the three songs that were forwarded. Already signed the paperwork, sent it back, and am transferring the music to them now. I salvaged this email out of my junk box, so FYI, anyone else who got forwards for this listing might want to check their junk folder.

Timeline:
Listing Deadlined on April 20
Got the Forward email on May 2
Got contacted by Library on May 31

Pretty quick one!

The track they took "Last Level": https://soundcloud.com/vanderboegh/last-level

ORIGINAL, 8-Bit Style “CHIPTUNE” INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a very successful, high quality Music Library with a really impressive history of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials. They’re looking for 8-Bit Style Instrumentals that you’d expect to hear in old-school videogames. Quoting the source: “We need classic sounding 8-bit video game music in the style of old Nintendo/Sega game themes.” Give them synthesized Instrumentals that sound like the video games of long ago, with a melodically, rhythmically, and authentically 8-Bit sound and vibe. Please do not submit remixed, modernized, or hybrid Chiptune with contemporary sounding elements and genres. The more old-school and classic sounding the better!

Yeah Terrell, pretty fast. I've had a few others go this fast, and one other one happen even faster. But usually it's months before you hear anything back - if you ever do. I think my longest wait time for a forward that actually turned into a deal was 6 months. So I'll take these quick ones any day!

It is for everybody, Dillio, haha. After the forward, it's out of nearly everyone's hands... yours and Taxi's. Your fate rests with the music company at that point! Just make sure you keep a good eye on your junk and spam folders... sometimes emails from libraries go there, and you might miss 'em if you're not watching.

Nothing in mine, but I did learn that something changed in my settings and my Taxi Dispatch emails were being sent to Spam instead of inbox. #Fixed

Congrats on the new deal, stud!

Congratulations, Matt! It's always great to hear that sometimes forwards turn to deals pretty quickly :)
