Cold Blue Moon

A cold blue moon sits upon the horizon of a million broken hearts,
From those who made their love their life to those who failed from a shaky start,
A cold blue moon not a comforting sight for it has no warmth to bear,
Tho when your alone you can cast no stones for if you do all you hit is air,

Cold blue moon, cold blue moon.

A cold blue moon dances in the night, reflecting in a pool of tears,
Protecting those that hide from the pain and put up walls to keep away all of their fears,
Through the window of their mind made cell, they search among the stars at night,
Wishing and praying for the walls to come down so that they may carry on with their life,

Cold blue moon, cold blue moon

A cold blue moon to a lonely man helps to fill his empty heart,
For it's soothing glow will help him sleep at night and dream the dreams of those that have naught,
When he awakens to a new days sun perhaps he'll feel it shines for him,
As he breaths in a new days life, perhaps he'll recognize where he's been.

Cold blue moon.....Cold blue moon

COUNTRY BLOOD

My daddy was raised from Kentucky land
Turning bluegrass soil was how he made his stand
In a time when only the strong survived
He would work his hands clean down to the bone
For all that he had he'd proudly call his own
For he had learned the hard way to stay alive.........He would tell me

It's the country blood that put the life in your soul
And keeps your heart warm when life can be so cold
So son be proud in all the things you do
For the country blood's in you

When I turned seventeen I knew the time had come
To cut the ties from home and quickly move along
For I felt the need to stand on my own
I quickly found out how hard life can be
You've got to pay the price if you want to be free
I found myself looking back towards home.....I'd hear my daddy say

It's the country blood that put the life in your soul
And keeps your heart warm when life can be so cold
So son be proud in all the things you do
For the country blood's in you

Time passes quickly and daddy passed away
But I won't forget the words that he used to say
When I was down and needed a guiding a hand
Son, never be afraid of what you don't know
Never turn your back on an open door
Show the world that you can stand on your own

For
It's the country blood that put the life in your soul
And keeps your heart warm when life can be so cold
So son be proud in all the things you do
For the country blood's in you

All Night Honky Tonkin

Singing songs in these all night honky tonks
Where life is lived off and on the rocks
You can see it in their faces
All wishing they were other places
See the man who is feeling kinda down
So he buys the house another round
He's searching for a friend
And hoping that this all ends

All night honky tonkin

See the couple that just walked in
You wouldn't want to be down the roads they've been
It seems that their love is a fight to survive
And so they come in here to forget and hide
See the lady at the end of the bar
She's drinking way to much yea she's going to go to far
By picking up a stranger in the middle of the night
This stranger just might be the one to take her life
with
This all night honky tonkin

Singing songs in these all night honky tonks
Where life is lived of and on the rocks
You can see it in their faces
All wishing they were other places
See the stranger with the guitar in hand
he ain't nothing special no he's just another man
Singing songs that somebody wrote
Maybe for someone it will give some hope......to this

All night honky tonkin......................

Broke My Soul

First broke the glass, as it hit a distant wall
Then broke my heart, I looked down to watch it fall
Then came the break' no being should ever now
You broke my soul

To forgive is an art, yet learned by these hands
Held not back by conscience, but simply from where I stand
All that I've known of love is spinning out of control
You broke my soul

Now stands before you are two separate men
One willing to walk away and say that this is the end
The other stands heart in hand and forgiveness is what he holds
You broke my soul

Looking back....not so long ago
You saved my soul................It was one I owed.......................
