Dramedy Instrumental Forward

Post by Soundbed » Thu Jan 12, 2017 11:15 pm

Second forward this week! On a roll!

Added some bossa beats underneath. And a little tuba distortion, because why not?

DRAMEDY INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a big Production Company’s NON-Exclusive, In-House Music Library for placements in a variety of Hit Reality TV Shows they produce. They’re looking for lots of fresh Dramedy Cues in All Tempos and in a range of Styles – not just mischievous! Fun, comedic, inquisitive, or just plain quirky! Please listen to the references below to get an idea of just some of the styles that are in the general ballpark for this pitch: “Desperate Housewives Season 3 – Funny Scenes” (4:32-5:08): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZX2NcYRr_I “Long Island Medium Episode” (0:00-0:12): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JBdrFhK7qs “Will Dives In | The Little People” (0:27-1:42): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSnuEbcaOY0 Please submit catchy, well-crafted Dramedy Cues with the typical Pizzicato Strings we’ve all become accustomed to, but with some fresh sounds or beats that make your Cues sound a little different and better than what this company already has in their catalog! It might be something as simple as just one instrument sound. Maybe it’s doubling the “pizzi” part on an instrument you typically wouldn’t hear playing that sort of part. Maybe the “pizzi” part isn’t played with string s at all! You could think about adding a distorted Tuba for the bass part or a Jew’s Harp part. Think a little bit outside of the box, but not so quirky or whacky that they can’t use it! Just give it a 15% incremental improvement or change to see if you can get them to say, “This is so cool!” Build your Cue around a central melodic theme, and stick with it from beginning to end. Use a very short intro, or maybe no intro at all. Add and subtract layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses to add dynamics and help it feel like it’s moving forward. Think about what you’d hear when the housewives are playing a prank on each other. That’s what they need, but with a little something fresh and new added to it! All Cues should be at about 2 minutes in length, give or take. Your submissions should be easy to edit and have Non-Faded, Buttoned/Stinger endings. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and Writer’s share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person hand-picked by the TV Production Company. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Monday, December 19, 2016. TAXI #D161219DC

Thanks! I love the imagined sounds these words from your profile conjure: 'Blues tinged guitar soundscape'
