Extremely long line to register!

Hi I am here at the rally for tge firstvtime and the line to register is unbelievably long! Someone said it's 5 hours long. We left and are hoping it will be shorter later after we go to dinner and come back.
Does anyone know if this is how it's supposed to be? What if we get to the front and it's after nine?
Will I be able to get a mentor if it takes 5 hours to register?

Mentors are 1st come, first served. Yes, the line is long and there's no help for that; you're supposed to use the time to get to know your 'line buddies'.
