"Fling"- An upbeat, fun country song

(I have added another version of this demo with harmonies if anyone is interested in listening. Thanks!)

This is an upbeat country song about a man having a fling with his wife, and or girlfriend. I call it "Fling". I'll have a demo to post under peer to peer in a week or so. In the meantime, does the lyric seem to work ok? Any negatives?
Thanks,Buc

Fling by Mark "Buc" Williams 2009(ASCAP)

V1
It's the same old thing for her day after day
Raisin' three kids, cleanin' house for no pay
This everyday monotony ain't sittin' quite right
I'm comin' home early try'n spice up her life

Chorus:
We're gunna,
FLING our arms round one another
Then we'll SWING on underneath the covers
Doin' THINGS she couldn't tell her mother
You know there's nothin' I'd rather do
Than to make her heart sing
I feel like a king
We're havin' a FLING

V2
She won't believe it's me by the way I'm behavin'
Given'er all the affection, I know that she's cravin'
A fun night full of lovin' with some added zing
Tonight I'll be adventurous tryin' new things

Chorus:
We're gunna,
FLING our arms round one another
Then we'll SWING on underneath the covers
Doin' THINGS she couldn't tell her mother
Ya know there's nothin' I'd rather do
Than to make her heart sing
I feel like a king
We're havin' a FLING

Bridge:
Playin' all those lovers games to her hearts delight
I'll keep those fires burnin' til the mornin' light

Ride

V3
Early Monday mornin' as the coffee's perkin'
She's lookin' mighty sassy, smilin' n' smirkin'
I'm sposed to be to work, but she's wantin' to play
I'm callin' up the boss, sayin' I won't be in today

Chorus:
We're gunna,
FLING our arms round one another
Then we'll SWING on underneath the covers
Doin' THINGS she couldn't tell her mother
Ya know there's nothin' I'd rather do
Than FLING our arms round one another
SWING on underneath the covers
Doin' THINGS she couldn't tell her mother
Ya know there's nothin' I'd rather do
Than to make her heart sing
I feel like a king
We're havin' a FLING

I made her heart sing
I feel like a king
We're havin' a FLING

Hey Mark,I love it! - it's got a bit of that Sugarland - 'All I Wanna Do' vibe about it. I'd be interested to hear the demo when it's done. I've got a colab with waltl going at the moment (Careful What You Wish For - here in Lyric Lovers) that I'd be interested to get your take on. Hopefully I'll have it up on P2P soon.Cheers,Scott

Buc,The lyric definitely works very well. Here's one minor item you might consider in Verse 1. In Line 1, "day after day" is fine. However, in Line 3 the "day" in "everyday" jumped out at me. I would try to avoid that repetition unless the repeated words are in the hook.Waltt's the same old thing for her day after dayRaisin' three kids, cleanin' house for no payThis everyday monotony ain't sittin' quite rightI'm comin' home early try'n spice up her life

Thanks Scott and Jesse! I was aware of the, day after day and the everyday in the same verse. I tried several other words like, regular and ordinary, along with several others, but kept coming back to "everyday" when I sang it. It didn't really bother me but it's a good point. I'll see how it sounds on the demo and if it's an issue I'll change it. Thanks!Buc

Buc,

Your new version of the demo sound excellent to me -- music, singing, production.

The lyrics are really well written. It has universal appeal but isn't too conventional. There are interesting images and moments. Congrats.

[Hi I listened to Im a Farmer loved the music and arrangement Lyrics were another matter
Beat Up Chevy Truck is so cliché I turned off after that line

Is this a Pro Demo or is it your self and can you up date any lyrics to the backing track ??

Good Work overall but the quoted line would get the song binned by a reputable act or Publisher
