Introduction of sorts
Hello hello hello!
Not exactly "new" to TAXI, but haven't been active on here until recently and keep forgetting to introduce myself! I've been a TAXI member for around a year and a half... signed up long before I knew what I was doing (not that I know what I'm doing now, but you know what I mean....ha).
My name is Anna Yarbrough and I'm a musician/writer currently living in New York City. I was born & raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, then spent a few years living in Australia, before moving to the States. I moved to Florida in 2013, Nashville TN in 2015, and now I'm (hopefully temporarily?) in NYC until such times as I can move back to Nashville...
I work as a remote session musician (piano/keys) and piano teacher, and I'm slowly learning the ropes of production. I've been writing songs for a few years now, but more recently I've been delving back into my composition roots and been writing a lot of instrumentals. I guess my goal is to slowly teach myself production on that side of things, and hopefully get the chops to do full songs myself.
My favorite musicians/writers include: Paul Simon, John Mayer, The Allman Bros Band, and Banks.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Hey Anna, I'm in NYC too! And I also joined TAXI way before I knew what I was doing, haha, back in the nineties. But I'm back with a vengeance now, and am determined to make something happen. I'm a piano/keyboard player, too; good luck, and maybe I'll see you around!

Hi Anna,
So...... you like the Blues?
You must, since you listed John Mayer and especially the Allman Brothers. Is the Blues popular in Ireland and where you got interested, or is that just an interest you picked while here in the states?

Haha, love that! You'll have to let me know of any good songwriting/musician groups in NYC - I've found a couple, but haven't been to any meet-ups yet!DooWahDiddy wrote:Hey Anna, I'm in NYC too! Re: Introduction of sorts
Hey Dave! I LOVE the Blues... don't play nearly enough blues music, but for sure my favorite genre to listen to. I think I did start getting interested in that style while I lived in Ireland, but it's not a big scene there. It was definitely moving to the US that gave me an appetite for it! I lived in St Augustine, FL for a bit... it's pretty close to Jacksonville, so I developed a real interest in a lot of Southern Rock/blues bands at that point. Then I moved to Nashville (and spent a lot of time in Memphis) which DEFINITELY fostered the obsessionwaveheavy wrote:Hi Anna,
