Hoping someone can explain what triggers a track to get assigned an ISWC number ?
Thinking for tracks with libraries/publishers what triggers them to apply for one for a track ?

This might be helpful - http://www.iswc.org/en/faq.html
"What particular steps should be taken to obtain an ISWC?
None for new works. Works will be automatically allocated a number as part of the registration process by the society of authors in question. As for works already registered, "existing" repertoire, the ISWC numbers may be allocated at any time."

Re: ISWC Numbers
Thanks for the reply!
I've read their faq before a kinda understand what the ISWC is for.
My question is really about libraries - I have cues in a few and some have been assigned an ISWC and some not.
It doesn't seem to simply a question of time as cues signed over a year ago haven't got them while more recent ones have.
Just curious really as it appears to be pretty random but wondering if there is some underlying logic to it.

Re: ISWC Numbers
Guessing here, but might it mean that the tracks that have been assigned a number have been placed or are under consideration?

Re: ISWC Numbers
All I know is my PRO assigns an ISWC when my tracks are registered either by me or the library/publisher.
