Latest Placements

Post by roberthamilton » Wed Jul 27, 2016 5:27 pm

I have been quite derelict about posting here on the forums. I think my last post was sometime before the Road Rally last year.

The beginning of last month marked 4 years that I have been with TAXI. I was just thinking about how grateful I am for TAXI, Michael and all the staff, all the members, publishers, and others that I have come to know and work with since joining. I remembered how important it was to me to hear about other members getting forwards, deals, and placements. It served as education and inspiration to keep going and getting better.

Since my last posts I have had numerous forwards, several deals with great libraries, and a notable increase in placements. I compiled a partial list of placements I've had since then from BMI statements, cue sheets, and Tunesat activity. There are quite a bit more that I didn't include as I don't yet have full counts on everything. I hope this helps some of you.

10 - Catfish Season 4 (MTV)
30 - Snapped: Killer Couples (Oxygen)
5 - Are You The One (MTV)
1 - NFL Today (CBS)
5 - Bad Blood (Investigation Discovery)
2 - Homicide Hunter (Investigation Discovery)
1 - Wives With Knives (Investigation Discovery)
1 - All American Makers (Science)
1 - Season With Notre Dame Football (Showtime)
1 - Twinning (VH1)
1 - Intervention (A&E)
10 - #killerpost (Oxygen)
1 - Rabid (Animal Planet)
10 - Love & Hip Hop Season 6 (VH1)
2 - Forged In Fire (History)
2 - Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 5 (VH1)
1 - True Life (MTV)
4 - I Am Homicide (Investigation Discovery)
1 - Southern Charm (Bravo)
1 - EJ NYC (Bravo)
3 - Mary Mary (WE tv)
1 - Thicker Than Water (Bravo)

Thanks, TAXI! :D

Duuuuuude! That's about 100 right there, and there are more? Congratulations, thanks for stepping up to let us know. I wonder how many other people out there have stories like this that we don't know about? And I bet the story goes something like this (and PLEASE don't hear this in a sarcastic tone - it's not meant to be at all).

Before TAXI - no real clue about the world of film and TV music licensing. - Check.
1st year of TAXI - not much action, but starting to learn. Check.
2nd year of TAXI - more clued in, and really starting to get it because of the forum, TAXI TV, the Rally and the feedback from our A&R people. Check.
3rd year of TAXI - much more clued in, getting more forwards, placements starting to happen at an increasing pace, building real relationships with fellow members, doing more collaborations, starting to achieve what seemed impossible before. Check.
4th year of TAXI - Placements really ramping up, doing even more collaborations, motivated to work more because of your growing success, and sometimes wonderig why you didn't join TAXI years before. Check!

I'm so proud of all of our members who've proved that with little more than some talent, a fairly basic home studio, some good, supportive TAXI friends, and the willingness to DO the work, you can achieve what never truly seemed possible. Hats off to you Robert and all your fellow members who are posting these great stories. Please keep them coming!

And the next time you see dipwads posting about how much TAXI sucks on Gearslutz and other sites that love to go negative on TAXI, please post links so those people can see what can be done if they quit bitching about TAXI and just did the work. the only difference between them and the people on this forum is the work ethic and attitude. Yay TAXI members!!!

Thanks again,
Michael
