Beautiful, Russell! A LOT of minutes! WHich brings up a newbie question: does anyone know if ASCAP pays by the minute in a background situation like this? Or are there thresholds where a 2nd and 3rd usage kicks in?

Russel,
Outstanding!
Successes like yours are great to hear about. Hard work pays off. Best wishes for more placements like that in your future.

Re: more than 8 minutes of my music in an episode
Thanks, Folks, much appreciated.
A quick read of the BMI royalty info doesn't indicate any kind of "tiered" system for background instrumental music based on length of use. However, there is a "super usage" for Background Vocal, Visual Instrumental, and Visual Vocal usages that go for more than one minute at a time. That wouldn't apply to my music in this episode since it is all background instrumental.
I'm BMI, I'm not sure how ASCAP does it. Well, for that matter, I'm not sure about BMI either.JohnForster wrote:Beautiful, Russell! A LOT of minutes!
