I Need a Lyricist Partner

Post by santa » Mon Nov 10, 2008 10:54 am

Hi All, I'm very activly looking for a talented lyricist to partner up with for song projects. Before going any further, I know that I will sound a little "rough" or "harsh" in this post, but I am really looking for someone who is serious. I have been burned before by people who have the best intentions in the world at first, but who do not follow through on committments once it gets down to putting in the hard work. So here goes:I'm writing almost exclusively for "song only" listings (meaning that the songs will be for professional artists to record) in various styles including Rock, Pop, Tween Pop/Rock, AAA and Crossover Country/Rock. I'm open to doing some Alt Country, but not traditional Country. I am very focused and I am aiming only for top quality songs here. So I plan to stay focused where I am best and most effective (i.e. composing music) and I expect to partner up with a highly talented and effective lyricist. If we are made for each other, I am sure that the results will be fit for the best A-list artists out there. In a perfect world, here's how I would like to work with you:We would normally be working towards specific regular and Dispatch listings on TAXI, so be prepared to work under very tight deadlines. That's the way I'm most effective, and I hope that you will be too.I would be sending you a very rough cut of the song containing a "hummed" melody line. In many cases I will have a story line as well as a few lyrics at certain points in the song. In some cases maybe a completed verse or chorus. In other cases probably nothing more than one key word. However, I respect the fact that you are the expert with words, so I will always be open to your ideas. But please be prepared - I am a very, very tough critic when it comes to this.I can usually prepare a rough demo within 24 hours and then a more polished version ready to be submitted for a listing within 48-72 hours once the lyrics are complete. I'll take care of the production and hiring singers/musicians. To give you a bit more background about myself, I have been composing songs since the age of 8 and this is my true passion. I currently have a successful business career in an area unrelated to music, but I have the luxury of having a very flexible schedule. I am very committed to having success as a commercial songwriter and last year I decided it was time to act very seriously about this. I joined TAXI and invested in my personal studio. I have submitted a few songs on TAXI listings and I have had good success with forwards so far. Although I could continue on my own this way, I have come to the conclusion that the quality of the songs will be further enhanced by partnering up with a great lyricist. In addition, this will make the process more efficient and allow us to prepare more songs and submit on a lot more listings. Please contact me through this post or through PM and we'll take it from there. Best regards!

I'll take you up on your offer provided I feel you are a talented songwriter. It works both ways.If you are interested in my work I can share my book with you. It's called The Little Shop of Lyrics.I write in all the genres you mentioned and very seldom do conventional country, but my recent post in the lyrics section demonstrates that I can do that as well.Let me know if you want to peruse the book.Wig

All I do is write lyrics. Can’t sing, can’t dance, can’t play any instrument. But I can write and IMO I do it really well. I’m a disabled vet, have loads of time on my hands, and do “pressure situations” very well. I’ve only been writing lyrics for about a year (started at my brothers request), but I was an intel specialist in the military, and writing was a big part of what I did. I’m 51 y.o. and have a butt-load of life experience, as well as “perspective”. I have a couple of songs posted here at TAXI, and am providing links to other forums where I’ve posted lyrics. I’m including a soundclick link for a couple of the demos I’ve participated in. The demos are rough, and I can email a couple other demos that haven’t been posted.I want to see my words put to GOOD music. Anything after that is gravy. Commercial efforts aren’t foremost in my mind, but I believe my lyrics are good enough to make the grade for commercial work, and I certainly wouldn’t turn down success and riches. I’m also a pragmatist, and I know that putting the music first is the best route to eventual success, plus ya get good music. Please take time to give my lyrics a look – I’ll send via email if you prefer that and provide an address. Look for username Inngr8 under all these forums. Thanks for your consideration.Philhttp://www.musesmuse.com/forums/index.ph....a1 ... dID=887768
