Hi Owen,
Thanks! Yes, according to TC the split is 90/10(TC).

Interesting. So it really boils down to how much faith you have in the decision makers' actually finding your music in TC's catalogue on their own and TC's efforts in actively pitching music. The other explanation for my seeing TC in the cue sheets is the bands/artists are out pitching themselves and directing them to TC maybe.
Whatever you choose, well I guess you've already chosen, just treat it like an exclusive library and see how it goes.
I cant really say definitively if its worth pursuing it or not.

With BMI you don't have to register as a publisher, you simply assign 100% of the publishing to yourself when you register the track.

Sorry, my mistake. Is it ascap that has the 200% publishing share between writer and publisher, Ethan?

Re: Newbie Question - BMI/Tunecore/Taxi...
I think, if I'm remembering correctly, BMI adds up the writer's share and publisher's share to 200%. So if you are in total control of the song you you own 200%. I don't know how ASCAP does it but I believe with ASCAP you need to create a publishing company in order to collect a publisher's share. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
