New song " All I Wish For Christmas "

Post by songmaster » Sat Jan 07, 2017 2:39 pm

Hey everyone

There is only three hundred and something days until Christmas! Right. Ok try to imagine it's only 3 days until Christmas  Anyway, I just got this song done and any and all comments are welcome. I actually had another song on my Taxi page called " Hold On To Your Wishes " and for the last little while, I've been thinking that the melody would suit a Christmas song, so there is no law against stealing from yourself, so I did. Also, any alas that come to mind would be helpful for me. The song is called " All I Wish For Christmas " and is on my Taxi page. Thanks all in advance , Tom :)

All I Wish For Christmas

All I wish for Christmas
Is to have you here with me
To share the night and watch the lights
Dancing on the Christmas tree

All I wish for Christmas
Is to see you at my door
No gifts of gold or silver bows
Could ever give me more
All I wish for Christmas is you
All I wish for Christmas is you

All the snow that's falling
The gifts under the tree
The carols sung, the stockings hung
Without you don't mean a thing
All I want for Christmas is you
All I want for Christmas is you

When I look up in the night
Searching for a star
With one breath, closing my eyes
I'm wishing you in my arms

All I wish for Christmas
Is to see you at my door
No gifts of gold or silver bows
Could ever give me more
All I wish for Christmas is you
All I wish for Christmas is you

Nice one!

The vocals are a bit too hard to understand without having the lyrics in front of me. They seem a bit sizzly and lacking the bottom end. This is the second song I've listened to of yours that is lacking the bottom end. Is your mixing environment Bottom Heavy causing you to mix light there?

Hi Russell, thanks for having a listen. I do not record my own songs. I had this one done through Studio Pros. So I guess in the long run the mixing is out of my hands, which means I have to trust that what the professionals are doing is right. To my ears, it did not sound bad ( in my headphones ). So I was happy in the end. I guess things can always improve, but like I say, I have to trust that whoever is doing my song has better chops than me.
