PRS MCPS PPL IPI CAE and more

Post by Alasdair » Mon Jan 23, 2017 5:05 am

Hi people..
Ive just applied for my IPS number via the UK equivalent of BMI which is PRS which protects my writers/ composition rights

and seemingly have 2 others that potentially i need.. are they all necessary?
Does it depend.
Do you have the equivalent of 1, 2 or all 3??

The other 2 are: MCPS & PPL (UK based)

MCPS which allows you to earn royalties when songs/music are reproduced, such as for CDs and digital downloads.

PPL collects royalties for a range of uses of recorded music – when it is played in public or broadcast on TV, radio and certain digital media services

Iam asking you guys and gals because you, unlike representatives of these collection companies (and me) know how the music we craete here is often used and the types of contracts we sign as a result
