2 Hip Hop Forwards

Post by Uttenreither » Mon Feb 06, 2017 3:23 pm

2 steps forward for this hip hop track: https://soundcloud.com/uttenreither/party-burn

Party Burn forwarded to the following 2 requests:

FUN, YOUTHFUL, HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed for $500, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements in a popular Television Series on Nickelodeon. They’re looking for happy, Mid-to-Up Tempo Instrumental Cues that would work well in the context of a show that’s targeted at a tween/teen audience. Please listen to the following references to get in the general stylistic ballpark of what they’re looking for: “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” by Silento: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjW8wmF5VWc “Bed Rock” by Young Money: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha80ZaecGkQ “Whip My Hair” by Willow Smith: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymKLymvwD2U Although the references have vocals, please give them only Instrumentals for this pitch. Submit catchy, original Instrumental Cues that deliver a youthful vibe with simple, straightforward melodies and a cool, infectious beat. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme, while adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses to add dynamics and interest. Your Instrumentation can vary, but should generally be in the range/ballpark of the references above and other. Sprinkling in some playful sounding ear candy such as chimes, twinkles, and harps could help add some youthful character to your Cues. But don’t overdo it! Too much of a good thing… Please submit Cues that are at least 90 seconds long with good edit points and non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced tracks in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). The estimated license fee for this placement is $500. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also keep 100% of the sync fee and 100% of the Writer’s share and any applicable performance royalties. You need to own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Monday, January 23rd, 2017.TAXI #Y170123HI

CONTEMPORARY HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a big Production Company’s NON-Exclusive, In-House Music Library for placements in numerous TV Shows that they produce! They’re looking for New-Era-sounding Hip Hop Cues in All-Tempos that could be heard on playlists with acts like (but not limited to): Warning: Some of the references have lyrics that may be offensive to some listeners. “High For This” by The Weeknd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX9DgavXiN4 “Trust Issues” by Drake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMGpBAOD2CI “Antidote” by Travis Scott: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZ8h3MRuYg Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for instrumentals only! Please submit current sounding Instrumentals that are somewhat sparse, slick, smooth, a little dark, and yet melodic at the same time. Airy, ambient synth pads, killer drums, and a bass heavy bottom will get you in the ballpark. While we can’t say that the examples are all that similar, if you listen to all three and ask yourself, “Would fans who listen to these like what I’m doing?” and the answer is “Yes,” then you’re probably in the range of what could work! Think contemporary and smooth, not classic and slammin’. All Cues should be at about 2 minutes in length give or take. Your submissions should be easy to edit and have non-faded/ buttoned/stinger endings. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and Writer’s share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Thursday, December 29th, 2016. TAXI # S161229CH

Cool track John. Nice build and breakdown!
Congrats on the forward.

John
Great track! You did something wonderful by using these 'voice patches' so the track is still an instrumental but it has that hybrid quality. May I ask what VI/library you used? Good stuff. Cheers, Matt

Hey Matt, Thank you. I used Tone2 Nemesis for the vox patches.
