TRADITIONAL-SOUNDING MIDDLE EASTERN INSTRUMENTAL CUES

Post by daveydad » Fri Feb 17, 2017 2:54 pm

Howdy! I haven't posted here for feedback in a while. I had these two tracks sitting around so I removed the vocals, tweaked them a little and wondered if either or both just might work for this listing. Feedback?? Thanks!!

TRADITIONAL-SOUNDING MIDDLE EASTERN INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful, NON-Exclusive Music Library that gets tons of placements in TV Shows, Films, and Commercials. They’re looking for Middle Eastern Instrumental Cues in a variety of Tempos, Styles, and Moods (except comedic). Please listen to the following references to get an idea of the broad range of what could work for his pitch:

“Sands of Arabia”

Arabic Traditional Instrumental Music

Arabic Traditional Music

Please submit well-crafted Middle Eastern Instrumental Cues that sound like something you’d hear in a documentary or a travel show. Your piece should quickly establish a location and mood. Your instrumentation can range from stripped-down solo Instrumentals to smaller ensembles, and even large ensembles, as long as they stick to one mood and melodic motif from beginning to end. Any combination of traditional Middle Eastern Instrumentation such as the Oud, Nay, Qanun, Tabla, or Violin could potentially work for this pitch. Something as simple as a flute and drum piece could land in a TV show if it’s done well and sounds like something you’d hear while walking through an Arab market. Anything that sounds too stiff or obviously MIDI-driven won’t work for this pitch. Make sure your instrumentation sounds like the real thing! Your submissions should fit well under dialogue, so please avoid submitting anything that’s super busy or frenetic.

All submissions should be at about 2 minutes in length, give or take. Non-faded endings will work best. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way shape or form. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE deal. Applicable sync fees will be split 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Friday, February 24th, 2017. TAXI #D170224ME

Hi daveydad

listened to both and i think both are great sampled tracks.. would say (no expert mind) that the first one has quite a bit of tension and more like a Bollywood action scene rather than traditional which in my mind is more laid back and genteel.

the 2nd one would seem to fit better.. but would say both worth a submission.

thank you for sharing

Good point. I just saw where it says "avoid submitting anything that’s super busy or frenetic" so might be better to stick with the slower one. Thanks.
