Christmas Song - Thoughts?
Dear All,
I have been working on this Christmas song last year and would like to put in some more work before the first Christmas song listings come in
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hey Matt, it's a really nice song. Would be good for adult contemporary listings - minus the Christmas lyrics.
For a Christmas song though, I'm not getting a very Christmas'y vibe. Maybe some sleigh bells jingling along, and some tubular bells or something might give it more of a holiday spirit?
Also, you'll probably want to compose a real definitive ending for this song, as nearly all Taxi listings these days specify non-faded endings. Would be a shame to make a killer Christmas tune that fits a listing perfectly, then have it get shot down because of the fade.

Many thanks. Stinger ending is definitely on my list + percussion!

Great commercial song Matt!
There's a listing for a Christmas instrumental right now that ask us leave off the bells a bit, so maybe it would work as an instrumental for that too. I really like the vocal though, and it would be a shame not to use it as a song next time there's a suitable listing.
Best of luck with it.

I like it!!! I'd call it "You Are Christmas", instead of "My Calendar". Good Luck!!!Lipskimusic wrote:Dear All,

Thanks! I had considered that but I felt it sounded a bit generic. But I know where you're coming from.WillieGirl wrote::I like it!!! I'd call it "You Are Christmas", instead of "My Calendar". Good Luck!!!Lipskimusic wrote:Dear All,

Please don't let being 'generic' stop you! Folks LOVE a song title with a few syllables that have the word Christmas in it, with a hummable melody. Re: 'Last Chrismas', 'All I Want for Chrismas is You', "Do They Know it's Chrismas'. Your song would hit in my opinion! Joy!

Thanks Paul!Pvgeldrop wrote:Love this one, Matt! Great vocals, amazing voice!
For Christmas, some lyrics might need some sweetening up (mentioning Hell, for example, doesn't really fit in my opinion), bit more candycane and generic honey-sweetness going on.
Good luck! You've got time until Christmas.
Paul

It's a great tune and production. I'd add in some sleigh bells - it needs some more Christmas flavour!
