He was rock'n'roll's greatest living singer-songwriter and a singular voice of his generation, an electric guitar pioneer, a consummate showman and entertainer, one of a kind and truly one of the last living legends...'til today.

Chuck's music was deemed good enough and important enough to be included on a golden disc sent into space with the Voyager probe, aimed toward the nearest galaxy, and I fully expect that in some far-flung future, perhaps long after the human race has ceased to exist, we'll receive a reply, saying thanks, and could you please send more Chuck Berry?

Hail, hail, Rock'N'Roll!

*Edited to correct a factual error; it was Voyager, not Pioneer

Yeah, I woke up to the news ...
He has his icon status secured but signs of old age (90) probably made it a good point to jump off now.
After having noodling around with the guitar for a while one of the first things I decided to learn how to play was the intro to Johnny B Good.
When I hear about Chuck Berry or on of his songs my struggles as a noob with the guitar comes to mind and I smile a little!
Thanks for the music, Chuck Berry! 8-)

90 years is a good long life, but it's always kinda weird when one of your icon moves on. RIP Chuck - you inspired so many!!!
