Help Pro Tools 12 Users!

Post by SteveBaruah » Sun Mar 26, 2017 1:48 am

Hi All!

I've just upgraded to Pro Tools 12 and started my first project (so saved to the cloud, not locally). The only problem is that when I now try to re-open the project, it just freezes with the 'Downloading project....' window.
I'm running it on a 3.6 Ghz i7 with 16GB RAM and a 8GB graphics card - so power shouldn't be a problem. Internet connection is also good.
Has anyone had the same problem?
Hopefully I haven't lost my session!

Thanks.
Steve

I'm on Pro Tools 12 but everything of mine is saved locally. If you're saving audio (big files) to the cloud then you're likely looking at some hefty download time.

Hi Matt!

Yeah, I'll be saving locally in the future. I left it 'downloading' in the back ground for about 4 hours earlier while I was doing something else, and it still didn't download.
I had about 20 tracks with audio on so could just be that, but then how is anyone supposed to use it?
Anyway, unless anyone comes up with a solution I'll have to start again and do the couple of hours work again this evening.

Cheers,
Steve

Update: I just went to open it again,....and it opened instantly!
Just a note for anyone with the same problem in the future; leave it 'downloading' for several hours, then never use the Pro Tools cloud again :D
