Quality of upload to the My Music Page
Hey guys,
Just wondered what everybody's thoughts were regarding upload quality on the My Music page. I know that the upload form actually accepts higher quality encoded files, i.e. 320kbps, but in all honesty the quality still isn't great.
I know that if a library wanted to sign a track they would request a higher quality wav file from the artist, but in terms of overall impression of a song at the point of reviewing the forwards from Taxi, I think it gives a pretty mediocre impression of a song, and for the people reviewing the forwards it could make a real difference in terms of their overall impression of a track?
Keen to get your thoughts.
Chris

If I'm not mistaken, the screener isn't hearing the streaming version like you are, but the actual file you uploaded.

That would be pretty awesome if that is the case, is anybody able to confirm this?

There is a way to test this on Taxi! Upload a problem track and choose to make it downloadable, and then download it from Taxi.by Len911 » Sat Feb 11, 2017 9:44 am

If the download sounds good, then Len is correct for sure.

Len's right; screeners listen to what you uploaded, NOT what's transcoded for web streaming.

That's great news - some encode particularly nastily, even if its a high res file.
