Staying on Track - iOS to-do list app
I've been struggling with a good way to organize a to-do list so that I'm managing my time wisely and meeting the listing deadlines. A Google Sheets file works, and that's what I've been using lately... but I'm not super happy with it. I wanted a dedicated app that could be reached with one tap on my phone.
Today I remembered an iOS app that I tried years ago, but didn't love as my main day-to-day tasks list. But, I realized that it could work well as a tool for this specific purpose. The app is called "Clear."
It's pretty simple to use and has a nice tutorial to get you stared when you first launch the app. It's easy to insert listings somewhere in the middle of the list, the downfall of the paper list. It color-codes each task from urgent to less-so... nice since the listings that are due first are the most urgent!
I'll include a screenshot of what I just set up today... transferred from my old spreadsheet. I figured it was worth sharing - If I've been looking for a better solution, maybe others on here were, too.
Happy New Year!

Erik, I had a post on what they call "mind maps", I deleted it for lack of interest, and people just made fun of me on another post where i mentioned them, lol! I am using Freemind on a linux desktop, but the link is a google search for mind maps ios. They are really fast and simple, though sometimes they appear quite complex, that's the beauty of them. Once you learn the principles, you will see the potential for all sorts of uses!

Thanks for the info, Leno911. I'll check it out. Might be a little deeper than I was trying to go, though. I just wanted an easy list on my phone of upcoming deadlines & thought I'd share my new plan.Len911 wrote:Erik, I had a post on what they call "mind maps"...

I use Trello and love it. What I love about it:
1. Ubiquitous. It's a cloud-based app - data not stored on a single device. There is an iPhone and an iPad app and it also works on Web from Mac or Windows browser. Recording happens primarily on my iMac, so I use it there a lot, but I can also keep track of things from any of the other platforms mentioned.
2. Team based tool - can be shared (changes in real time - seriously) for collaboration situations. Also since it is accessible from any platform, collaborators don't have to all have the same tech setup.
3. The user interface is very visual and intuitive with the drag/drop between sections (you have to see the tour). I've setup a page that has columns for types of songs that are in progress, songs that have been submitted, songs that have been forwarded, archived etc.... I've also used mind map tools in the past and I like them for brainstorming ideas, but this tool seems more natural to me to keep track of the different states each of my song projects progresses thru.
4. It's free, so I can save $$ to buy more gear

I just stumbled upon Russell's post, "A "project" and "next action" managing APP" which dives into this topic, too.
