Hey all! Been a member here for a few months now and just scored my first forward for listing S130306PR, which was:

CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SONGS in the general range of Coldplay, Keane, Snow Patrol, etc., are needed by a Music Licensing Company that specializes in licensing music to videographers and photographers for various events and projects. QUOTING THE SOURCE: "We're looking for songs with 100% positive lyrics, with themes that focus on love, family, children, celebration, happy times, etc." In other words, if you've got songs that would show up on the same radio stations as the artists mentioned, and they've got lyric themes that fall in that match the references above, you might have the perfect material for this company. Songs submitted should have an UPBEAT and JOYOUS vibe to them. MID-to-UPTEMPO songs with a CURRENT, RADIO-FRIENDLY appeal will work best for this listing. General and Universal lyrics are needed. Avoid specific names, places, dates/times or detailed storylines. Lyrics should be rated PG. Vocal and instrumental presentation must be top-notch! Broadcast quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine.) Please submit one to three songs and/or instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Wednesday, March 6, 2013. TAXI #S130306PR

Taxi passed along my song "Steady Me" (which you can hear on my user page if interested!) and less than an hour later I got an email from the licensing company saying they love the track and want to use it! Too cool.

Thanks for all the wonderful encouragement and insight that you all post here regularly. It helps newer writers like myself to understand that this business, albeit intimidating, is not impossible.
