SPORT Fever !

Post by HectorRContreras » Sat Sep 14, 2013 6:20 pm

Hello everyone,

Hector and Catherine, we have just co-worked on this high Energy, crazy Guitars, sick Bass lines, Adrenaline pumping like stuff, packing a Wallop Instrumental for Sport TV ! :D

We had so much fun doing it, (not our habitual Genre !), and look at this Listing, it is fun just to read it as well, smile :

DRIVING, UPTEMPO, ENERGETIC ROCK INSTRUMENTALS that would work well for SPORTS BROADCASTS are needed by the Owner of an extremely busy Music Library with incredibly solid connections to the MAJOR networks. This guy gets TONS of placements per year on dozens of TV Shows. He's phenomenally successful at what he does!

Give him Mid-To-Up Tempo Instrumentals with HIGH ENERGY and a contemporary sound that will play well during Sports television montages. Stylistically, he needs crazy, catchy, and melodic guitar riffs, energetic drums, sick bass lines, and anything else that will really help pack a wallop! Your Instrumentals need to get viewers' adrenaline pumping like they've had one too many energy drinks. He's definitely NOT looking for anything soft, sappy, or sentimental. Your Instrumentals must be at least 1:30 (one minute and thirty seconds) long.

Watch some ESPN, Fox Sports, and even some extreme sports broadcasts to get in the ballpark of the music typically used on these shows. "Honey, I've GOT to watch this game. TAXI told me to! It's for my music career, really!"

This Library offers a Non-Exclusive, 50/50 split deal. You'll keep your 100% of your original copyrights. You must own or control 100% of your master and composition rights to pitch for this. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or Per CD no later than Monday, September 16th, 2013 at 11am (PDT). TAXI #D130916RI

Ok; it is there, it is called "SPORT Fever", ... of course ! (and be careful, it is loud ! ;) ):

Please give us Feedbacks and Critiques, thank you very much.

H & C,
I'll "break the ice" for ya...

I can tell you had fun making this and I hope you didn't hurt your ears in the process! :P
Technically there seemed to be many problems that TV would have in using this tune.
The Kick drum for one sounded like it was pushing your monitors too hard and distorting.
The guitar seemed to be doing something similar.
It was agressive but didn't feel coherent.
There also was a strong Avant Garde feel to the whole piece.
That is where I know the two of you had fun! :D

In a listing like this I think to get a placement we have to think more "mainstream"
What does a guy in his pickup truck drinking a beer want to hear...
But I do believe that without taking your first steps within a genre you'll never know/grow/experiance it.
Congrats on stepping outside of your safety zone and giving it a shot.
Hopefully someone with more experiance than me can chime in and give a little help on how to get the sounds that the listing might be looking for.

Sincerely,
Cass

P.S. Love you two! :D

Yeah I'm afraid this is too "out" to be useful for film/tv library music. I think especially for sports stuff you need a consistent groove, that's where I'd start. On the other hand if this is just for kicks and you don't care about getting placements by all means go as far out as you want!

If you want to hear a Taxi member who has the rocking sports instrumental stuff down look up Barry French.

Best to you!

Oh dearest Robert,

This is so nice of you to explain the matter like this to us.

I see, we really went for it, because of the description, ... but way too much as it would cause a problem of Sound.

Well, we thought that at the TV edition board, they could put it loud or less loud.

And yes, it lacks coherence because we visualized plenty of pictures of different scenes in the area of extreme Sport. So, it changes all the time.

Great to have your view on this. You are always kind and helpful.

Dear Ethan,

We appreciate your Visit very much.

All right, we are learning something :
"a consistent Groove" works better for this Context.

We did not make a mistake not to submit it, ... ouf !

We shall have a good listen to Barry French. Thank you !

Dear Robert and Ethan,

We have re-posted at Taxi, another Version of "SPORT Fever" (same Title) with a much more reasonable Sound this time. Your Monitors won't feel bruised anymore, :D ;)

I just happened to be surfing the forums and the thread title caught my eye.

@Hector... I'll echo what's already been said, I think your piece is a little bit too "out there" to be useful for film/TV.

@Ethan... Awww, thanks so much for the kind words my friend! I was just reading through the replies and then bam! there's my name! You are very kind sir :)

I ended up submitting some tracks to this listing. Anyone interested in hearing them, they're on my TAXI profile page at http://www.taxi.com/bigbluebarry. The tracks I submitted were:

Comeback Anthem*, In The Grave, No Time For Sleep*, Teenage Angst*, Thorns In My Eye

* - these may be a bit too pop-punk for the listing, have to see what the screener thinks :) The other tracks are a bit older, the pop-punk tracks are fairly recent.

Love it Barry,
you sound like the king of "Chunka chunka chunka" land!
Any placements with the UFC yet?
Nice work!

Sincerely,
Cass

Hello dear Barry French,

So very nice to have your Visit.

We listened to "Comeback Anthem" and "No Time To Sleep", ... and we understand ! It is full of Energy, and it is pumping with Adrenaline, but also it is consistent, coherent, loud without being too loud and very well controlled till the end.

Very good work indeed.
