Re: go to both mentor lunches?
For what it's worth, every year we get people who only sign up for Friday's lunch, then beg us for tix to go to the Saturday lunch. Of course we're sold out before the Rally even begins, so we can't help them.
We don't make any money or get a kick back for lunches sold, so I've got no skin in the game. But, if you're going to drop $20-$30 on lunch in the hotel restaurant (which is very good BTW), you might as well spend $32.50 (tax and tip included) to go to the mentor lunch. You're likely to meet different mentors each day, and they expect that you'll be giving them music. Tackling industry types in the regular restaurant is a whole other thing.
Last year we got a lot of positive comments on the food at the Mentor Lunch, so we've asked them to do the same menus again this year. Like I said, TAXI doesn't make a penny more if you go, but people must be asking to buy a second day for a reason.
Hope this helps, and look forward to seeing you there. Gotta say, I'm pretty proud of the panels and panelists we've got lined up this year!
See you soon,
Michael

Yes, hotel security does frown upon that sort of thing.admin wrote: Tackling industry types in the regular restaurant is a whole other thing.

Is there a policy on attendees bringing their guests/spouses/SO's to the mentor lunches (paying for an additional ticket of course)? Is it unusual/common/discouraged/encouraged/no preference?
