My Rally Class: Music Business and Terminology Basics

Post by Casey H » Wed Oct 30, 2013 4:25 am

Hi all
Just a little promotion for the class I'll be teaching again at Rally 2013, "Music Business and Terminology Basics", Friday at 2:45. :D

I started this 3 years ago and based it mainly on years of answering questions (or reading other good answers) on this very forum. Everything is from a non-lawyer perspective and covered topics include copyright filing basics, publishing contracts, reversion, film/TV contract types (all that exclusive, non-exclusive, semi-exclusive stuff) and more.

A teaser... Here is the PowerPoint for this year's class...

I hope to see many of you there!

Best,
:D Casey

It's a good class, very informative. I enjoyed it last year.

I just wish Casey would have had more time to present it... There was a "Don't-worry-Casey-I'll-teach-this-class-for-you" guy in there... totally kept trying to make the flow of the class go where HE wanted it... Geez! that was annoying! I wanted to b***h-slap that guy.

Kudos for your patience, Casey.

:D
Hi Casey,
You are on my list as well. I haven't been to a rally in at least 5 years. Do you suggest that I stick mostly to the general meetings in the ballroom because of that?
Looking forward to meeting you. I'll have my red dot on my name tag!

If I weren't busy moderating panels, I'd go! Good luck Casey!!
