Thankfully we're all highly skilled musicians and no one would ever overplay a cowbell.
And I bet the staff would totally dig it!

Hi everyone! I'm Maya -- I was playing the red melodica at the Sunday night jam!
I'm mostly a lurker here on the Forums, but I hope to be more active here. This was my first Rally, and it was a ton of fun, and mega-inspiring. I wrote a new song on the plane back to Chicago!

Maya,
I kept wanting to tell you at that session that what you were doing sounded cool.

The jams were a blast! In the lobby as well as in the collaborator's room across the hall from one of the open mics.
To me it is the spiritual part of the rally. The experience at the piano that was by the entrance two years ago will go down as rally lore....but with a small army of guitars and a small plethora of other sundry instruments we soldiered thru for another very memorable jam.
I couldn't find my claves or I would have brought them again also. Besides my cajon bongos and shakers, I do have a small cowbell, a large cowbell, an agogo cowbell, a woodblock, wind chimes and finger cymbals that I left behind...... if we want the Westin to truly rue the day they locked the piano up.....(or simply ask us to stop)
I read a quote recently that on one likes hanging out with musicians more than a drummer. Truer words were never spoken.

Ah, Richard, that was you on the bongos - I was just across from you for the early part of the eve. Nice job holding it locked.
The Two Years Ago At The Piano event... man that should go down in geologic history. I was there, and it created numerous vertical and horizontal faults all over the inside my head, not to mention a little early morning, err... uplifting?
Epic-ocity.
Boy, were we all bummed to find out they had closed the bar. And it's a good thing they did.
Glad I was there, and the memory is so much more endearing, now that I've lived through it.
