Re: what a great weekend!
Agreed! AWESOME weekend!!! AWESOME people!!!!
I feel so grateful and blessed to meet and know such amazing folks!!!!
I'm still there in my mind with you all - I don't want to let it go!
So hard to come back to reality...but time to channel that into some fine tracks!

Re: what a great weekend!
I sure agree, Andy (and everyone else)
I think today was the first day I didn't feel like I was still there. Was pretty depressed Monday PM when I got back, but worked on a tune earlier and eased myself back into the flow.
Now, Time to apply all the great info.
Great to have met all of you!!

Re: what a great weekend!
Hey Everyone... what can I say but the Rally was ridiculously awesome, career-changing, and life-changing for me!
I made so many great, hopefully long lasting, relationships it is still hard for me to believe. I also became even more aware of how attainable a full time career in songwriting is with hard work, diligence, patience, and professionalism (like in any other industry). I'd already figured all that, but the rally confirmed all of it for me.
A couple funny and embarrassing things that happened to me while I was there...
1) I invited myself to a group for lunch only to find out someone else was paying... he was very gracious indeed. Quite embarrassing and definitely rememberable.
2) I introduced myself to Michael like 3 times thinking he wouldn't remember me, but evidently he has an incredible memory.
What about you guys? Any funny embarrassing moments?
Back to work!
John

Re: what a great weekend!
Hey John,
So glad you went and enjoyed your first rally! It's an experience like none other!!! Hard to describe isn't it!?
I was looking for someone from the Forum whom I collaborated with. Someone pointed her out to me. I went up to her and with a lot of pomp introduced myself and gave her a big hug since I'd heard she was looking for me too. Only I had the wrong person! But we all had a laugh over it.
I am having a lot of trouble focusing on what I need to do next. First, type up my notes I think. Then, this may seem like stalling, but -- declutter my studio.
cheers all
love,
wen

Hey Wen... LOL!
Yes, it is hard to describe how amazing the rally was.
Keeping the creative space I work in decluttered is never a waste of time, at least for me.
And don't forget to keep in touch with all those new found friends you made. And write, rewrite, submit, repeat!

Re: what a great weekend!
Ya know I personally don't think the dots are standout enough. I missed a lot of dots as well. Perhaps some sort of forum audio cue or something... couple bars of baby elephant walk when two dots pass... then we'll know.
Anyways, wow. I'm still in recovery mode, and the transition has been exceptionally difficult this year. Possibly because the reality of making a living at this wonderful but twisted up in knots industry has never been so attainable, for me. I did get a cue up for the quirky indie pop call right outa the gate when I got home, but missed the submission deadline due to some other stuff going on. All good, it's usable. And it was a good way to start off the post-rally period.
Seriously, in that regard, I am still flying. Through it all, there's so much to be said for surrounding ourselves with like minds.
As Andy says... thank you, Michael!
And thanks to all of you forum members as well - I hope to meet many more of you next year!
