I'm not even sure THAT'S true!
I think Abbott would do best to give his jaw a break. He's the one raising everyone's expectations,
when the searchers are saying they haven't found anything definite.
Yea, he said today that he's confident the pings are from the jet...Oh really!!

All the non-stop talk about pings and Flight Data Recorders points out just how antiquated the currently employed technology is. Airplanes should be sending real time data of this nature out to a central server somewhere and not relying only on hard storage. It is 2014.

I realize that with regulations, approvals, cost, etc. the process of change is slow. Hopefully, the one positive that will come out of this is all commercial flights will have better technology within 1-2 years.

"United States denies claims missing Flight MH370 landed at its military base on Diego Garcia"

That settles it then! :)

Yea, I woulda thought the US would jump up and say, "Yes, the plane landed at Diego Garcia, we gave it a full tank of gas and sent it on it's way"....

BTW, not big on conspiracy theories. I really think the plane went down somewhere in the great big ocean... i.e. the "single crash theory"...

Real strange they haven't found a thing floating yet!!
If they ever do find it underwater, it'll be interesting to see how intact it is?
Kinda makes sense that if the pilots were still alive on impact, they would have tried to skim it across the water as gentle as possible. The problem there is, that water out there is rarely calm enough for that.
Hope we find out someday!
