blues inspired indie rock forward

Post by rdance » Tue Apr 01, 2014 2:29 pm

this song has been returned at least three times for the same type listing...finally got it through on this listing...different screener. so what i learned is, don't give up if one or two screeners don't think it's a match, cuz another screener will!

BLUES-INSPIRED INDIE ROCK SONGS with MALE vocals are needed by a successful Music Library for placements in Film and TV. They're on the prowl for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would be heard on the same playlist as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Keys, Hanni El Khatib, etc. Give them driving Songs that have tons of swagger, attitude, and a bit of cockiness. Songs need to have a riff-focused guitar approach that delivers a solid groove, in a commercially appealing way. Your vocal performance should be confident and believable. Lyric themes can vary, but should be universal and typical of the genre. Avoid specific names, places, dates, times, brands, etc. Do not copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. This Library offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 split. You'll get 50% of any sync fees and 100% of the Writer's share. They'll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Publishing. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to submit to this pitch. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Tuesday, February 25, 2014. TAXI #Y140225IR

Congrats Richard,

I agree about the same songs hitting different screeners - you just never know. "Ain't That Nuthin" sounds great!

Cheers,
Scott

Yeah, congrats on this great tune. I'm sure it'll find some uses.
Also an example of that you snapped, and then tuned into writing universal lyrics.
Contemporay, vocals are great. SLAM DUNK, on this one dude 8-)

i appreciate that everybody!

for educational purposes, the main reasons i got returns before this forward were, they thought the overdriven vocal was too distorted and not understandable, and...they thought the tempo was too slow. but i call that the pocket :D and apparently the current screener agreed.

you never know how the taxi process will go.

on to the next one.
