2 fer the "Sparse Underscore" opportunity

Post by singer1 » Wed Apr 09, 2014 8:35 am

Hey Taxi gang, I have 2 for the 'sparse underscore' opportunity. They are "Spring Mist" & "Forensic", and can be found on my Taxi homepage. Hope it's up to the rest of you'all. Peace! D.B.M. :)

These are great. I especially like Spring Mist. I thought it sounded like it would fit a scene of someone experiencing tremendous pain/loss. Forensic sounded very suspenseful. Nice work! Good and sparse.

Both are very cool, Dave!

I like the contrast between the two different styles.
Good luck, sir!

Well gang, our ears are WRONG!! The all encompassing voice of # 374 has spoken; and had returned them for reasons not on the description.
The reasons : Hi David, I dig the moody vibe, but they're seeking a slightly more current sound for this pitch.
2nd song reason:
Interesting undercurrent, but a bit more retro/futuristic sounding than what would work for this pitch.
WISH THEY HAD MENTIONED THESE TINY FACTOIDS!! D.B.M.

Hi DB
The listing *did* say current sounding. That being said, I'm listening to "Spring Mist" and really like it. I'm on laptop speakers so I can't comment on the sound quality if there were any concerns there.

I'm really not sure with this type of piece, what "current sounding" means, since this if fairly ageless and timeless. I'm actually surprised (assuming all other factors OK!) that this wasn't a forward for a reality TV cue listing such as this one.

Maybe others can chime in.

Best,
:D Casey

To me, I'm not sure how much $$ it'll take to get one past #347 ;)
JOKING, OF COURSE!!!! ;) But I think we can all agree (even the ones who have been successful) that particular screener is THE MOST difficult of the screeners. Lately, Ive just absorbed that obstacle as part of the experience. WHATev ...

Time to write another, incorporating the latest and greatest sounds and techniques you can muster up (or afford to purchase).

Press on, DB!

To be fair, DB said it was #374, not #347 that returned his tracks here. It's easy to get cixelsyd about screener numbers... ;)

All four of my submissions for this listing were also returned.
I thought I had this nailed since this is the type of thing I've been hitting heavy for the past four months or so for another library.
I was really hoping to see "forwards" posted for future reference on this type of listing.
