Gangsta's Hold Philharmonic Hostage (Hip Hop Sorta?)

Post by cassmcentee » Tue Apr 15, 2014 9:33 pm

To me this sounds like gangsters who have walked into a formal dinner uninvited...
To long till the Hip Hop comes in? (for Hip Hop)
Any thoughts??

Hello dear Robert/Cass ! :)

Woah, "The Wrong Hood" it is so very good, personally I love the long Introduction, it is so well made, the Sonorities, all the Instruments, Ah... at 0.52 we begin to understand the : what it is all about, and at 1-13, we are getting there.
Really not sure about the Sound of the single Drum or Beat (although an excellent Musical Idea how you use the Drum in the Piece), it would be SUCH a shame that if it is not appreciated just because of the Sound of the Drum. Please please find another Drum. It is too Synth and high pitched.
You know, we see many Hip Hop dance performances in our Talent Shows on TV, this would work marvel. It would need to be expanded, and to be longer. Don't loose it, it is a very very good Track.
Ok; continuing the listening.
Nice pause at 1.54. I love the Instrumentation, it is so well done. You see, the Contemporary Generation loves this : it is different, is is fun in an unconventional way, at times in a contrary way, but making sure always that the Friendship stays ! ;) Quoting Graham, "one never knows what will come next" ! This is our current Period all right.
I would definitively work on the Button end. You can do it dear Robert ! You will find something. Because ... it just stops, so that's not right. :?

Amazing, I enjoyed listening to it very much indeed. Thank you dear Robert/Cass. :)

Very cool, Cass!

Kind of a "suspense/creep" hop. I like how the intro builds, even if it may be considered long by some. A very cool swing to the drums when they do come in. I think this has got a lot of possibilities, especially with Catty reality shows. Is it for a listing or just a work in progress?

Nice!!!
:D

Cass,

You are so versatile! It's a very cool track. I agree with Peter: suspense/danger that would be very appropriate for reality shows. I could see it in a catty seen or when a game show host is about to announce which contestant is going home. If you want to go for a hip hop listing, I think the track should reveal its hip hop identity sooner, but I am no expert in these matters....

Catherine! Thank you for the well thought out and listened to critique!
That snare does seem to be the hottest sound in the mix
I think I can lose a couple of the high end sweeps that are going on as well
I'll get to work right away!

Peter, This one I dug out of the "Sketchbook/Past Tunes"
eliminated the guitar work and stuck with the Orchestra
I am aiming for having a few more underscores ready since I got one thru for the underscore listing

Thanks Dan! I played it while watching "Deadliest Catch" and it worked throughout the show!
