Looking for a piano sound

Post by Nick2012 » Wed Apr 30, 2014 9:43 am

If any of you have "World" by the Bee Gees in your music library... Can you tell me if it's possible to get anything close to that sound with any of today's digital options (either digital piano or piano software)?

That's a little bit about the recording, doesn't give a whole lot of info. I'm guessing the tape might be a part of the sound.

I'm thinking maybe addictive keys could be something like what you are looking for. Here is a video, I think there are 2 parts, pretty in depth demo

Yeah, I'd try a chorus or doubling effect on a good sampled Grand Piano.

Yes, Torley has a ton of videos where he's done reviews on various products and they're some of the best reviews around imo, usually pretty in depth, and you know by the end of the video if the product is or isn't what you are looking for.

I just listened to Words by The Bee Gees. The piano is an acoustic piano out of tune with some sort of a phaser on it. There is also a keyboard like a mellotron,. Panned to the side is a guitar . That was a great mix for its time. Great song too. But what do I know.
