Deriving your Taxi Homepage URL?

Post by uncbilly » Tue May 13, 2014 9:16 am

To paste my TAXI homepage URL into a post, I assumed that I could:

1. Go to my TAXI homepage
2. Hilight and copy the URL of the page
3. Paste it into a post
4. Highlight it
5. Click on the "URL" button, up next to Fonts size

Didn't work

This is my URL on my homepage, or at least the one that I see in the URL field of my browser:

http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php

Is that what everybody else sees? (ie /home.php)

I didn't think it would work because my name isn't in it, but since other of software I use (mail software, forums, blogs, etc) does it that way, I figured I'd give it a shot. Didn't work.
So I tried to find a link with my name in it somewhere. Couldn't.
Then I tried several variations of adding my name, trimming out levels, slashes, case-sensitive, etc. and still got "404 file not found"
Then I looked on the forums for about 20 minutes and couldn't find the specific instructions.

Can anybody provide a step-by-step on how to find (create) the URL that will point to my TAXI homepage from within a post?

Thanks,
Bill

login to member profile at Taximusic.com

go to My Artist Info

look down to My TAXI link: www.taxi.com/

whatever is there is your url that other people can get to to listen.

alternatively, or in addition - consider opening a Soundcloud.com account. Its free for the basic account, and most importantly it can be listened to on mobile devices running iOS like the iPhone. The Taxi site runs on flash, so if a lot of people are on the go or at work, you won't hear feedback until they get home and check it on their actual computer.

Thanks Andy!

I didn't realize I had to manually type in the URL at the Artist Page.

I'll be getting the soundcloud thing going soon. Cool that soundcloud works on mobile devices!

Dear Bill,

On the Yellow Band above, there is :
"User Control Panel"

- Click on : "User Control Panel"
- Click on "Profile"
- Click on "Edit Signature"

And there you will be able to write any URLs that you like. Careful, there is a letter number limit ;)

You can Click on "Edit Avatar" also, there you will be able to bring about a Photo. Careful, the size must be 90 X 90 only ... ;)

I think by default it's a string of numbers.
