As much as I've had situations where I didn't agree with screener 374, I have to say:

Before we criticize the screener, we need feedback from folks with good production music experience making realistic string sounds. My ears aren't the best for that. If the strings sound obviously "midi" as they call it, the screener was right to return the track.

"Jump"... Bluegrass-style?!

"We'll... me n the boys tried that once, but my suspenders got stuck on the tuning gears of my banjo; and ol' Leroy went and fell off th' porch. I dialed 9-1-1. The lady on th'other end axed where we lived. I said, '134 Eucalyptus St."
'Can you spell that for me, sir?' she axed me.
I tolt her, 'I'll drag him on over to 1st St... y'all pick'im up there!' "

Ha!, Russ

Thank you for the compliment, Jim. Not sure if this one will ever see the light of day again, but that’s OK :D

Thank you, dear Catherine! We press on … :( :D

I hear ya, David! NOT to be confused with 347 (AKA, the iron gate!)

Hahaha, Peter!!!

Casey … I do agree with you and sincerely appreciate the compliment. :D :D I MUST update my sounds immediately!! I think my biggest fear is having the learning curve of a new toy (Komplete 9, etc.) contaminate my current output.
If I log off, I may never be able to get back on ;)

The "Iron Gate", haha. Here in Boise, there used to be a bar called the Iron Gate that had some plush leather chairs on wheels, free popcorn, and a nice shuffleboard table. Oh, and cheap drinks. Then Boise State University bought the property, tore down the bar, and built a new Business building. Makes me sad every time I think about it.

I know that has nothing to do with your Van Halen song, which is a bummer about the return by the way. Returns are momentary setbacks. Get on the horse and ride! (I'm sure you're already doing this, but hey, a little encouragement from your peeps never hurt.) But yeah, like Casey said, I don't think midi strings ever really had an "era", other than the era of amateurs which is always in season. Do yourself a favor and get some new samples / virtual instruments, and you won't get these screener comments & returns nearly as much. You're skilled enough as a composer/arranger/engineer, so don't let those pre-2005 strings hold you back!
