You're very welcome Catherine! Probably one of the key elements is to download one of the free ISO burners they recommend in the tutorial, that way you can burn the ISO onto a blank cd or dvd. The iso is the "bootable" software part of the equation. I'm not certain about a mac, but on a windows computer, you can put the cd in the computer, and hit the function key eg. F10, or whatever key you hit to go into the boot mode in the bios software, there you set your boot default, mac os? or choose the cd/dvd drive for the macpup os.

I googled and found:

Startup Shortcuts

Hold the 'x' key during startup. This will force the Mac to boot from OS X, no matter which disk is specified as the startup disk.

Hold the 'c' key during startup to boot from a bootable CD or DVD.

looks like it is the c key.

Anyone noticing a new anomaly...? :?
in that the comment section on Sound Cloud no longer likes or recognizes punctuation
(apostrophes, in particular... get coded and garbled).
Possibly it only happens on my old PC, or something to do with Windows Vista...
I'm no techy. :geek:

Or, you could try typing "ADMIN" when prompted for a password. It's been known to work.

Oh thank you dear Mojo. I tried that.

I even tried : "admin"-"Admin" and "ADMIN"

The thing is that during a repair, the Computer has been put on "Automatic Login". Locked with the ... locker.
Ok ; if I attempt to click on "unlock", ... then the Computer asks for a Password ! :o  :x

The Computer went into repair in the first place, because I changed the Admin Password into something more complex.
Few hours later the Computer shut itself down, and I could not re-awake it.
It is a sort of Security move, from the Computer. I wish I had knew that before ...

Needless to say that I am not going to change my Admin Password again, which at the moment seems to be inexistent anyway.

I have to go to the Mac Shop and explain well. I am hoping to be able to do something with the Install Disk. But I won't try that before an expert gives me sounds advice.
It is so expensive to bring the Computer into repair again, in more than one ways.

Here, thanks to this Post and to the generous answers from the Members, I have several good insights that are going to help me to upgrade my Computer eventually, in a way or in another, and perhaps I am going to purchase my second Memory Card also.

People have said that when one upgrades a Computer, there is a risk of loosing Data.
Ok ; I have an external Hard Drive, that has been "pomping in" all my Data on a regular basis.
If anything happens, I have this.
But after 6 years of activities on the Computer, I have so many things :
Virtual Drawings, Pictures, Greeting Cards, Illustrations, Messages from or about Friends, zillions of Photos, zillions of scanned Material, important Links, important Articles that I wrote, and of course everything related to Hector, I think that I have about 60 Folders on Hector only !!
And of course all my Musical Compositions, and my homemade Videos.

Won't be easy to put everything back in order, because as the external Hard Drive eats stuff, a little bit everyday, one after another, it has no notion of organizing Data, except for dates, I think.
So it shows something like that, under a Picture for instance : Img_1386@2009-2-14...jpg
And that is it !

Thinking on savind data, a external HD could be stolen, or losted, burned ...
cloud could be a good alternative or supplement

Yes indeed, dear Philippe.

What do you mean by "Cloud" ? SoundCloud ?

Yes, I had time to upload 22 of my Musical Compositions at SoundCloud, before I could not access it anymore, because of THEIR changes.
That is a relief.
And people can still access my SoundCloud whenever they want to.

But I cannot listen to the TAXI Members Musical Compositions when they are at SoundCloud.
That is a chagrin.

Hopefully, all this will be finally resolved during the month of September, I hope. ;)

No I think he was talking about the bigger cloud as in "the cloud" - which is just another way of saying saving content to a server that lives somewhere else that you access via the internet. Such as Google Drive, or Drop Box or whatever. The storage on Soundcloud would certainly qualify as well.
