I Think Every Songwriter Should Read This

Post by Razor7Music » Mon Jun 02, 2014 8:16 pm

Hello All

I just read a very comforting article and I think you would be edified if you read it too:
http://www.mynewsletterbuilder.com/emai ... 1412071391

The article is titled: "Who Are You Without It?"

One that I had to share...
Thanks,

Really great article. I think you are right (that every songwriter should read this). It is so easy to get lost in the pursuit some times, to keep striving for some idea of success, and to feel like we can't call ourselves a songwriter until we've reached that. But when you stop to consider what things would be like without that pursuit, it's definitely clear that you are already walking the path, and life would be a lot less without it. Thanks for sharing this great reminder.

Thanks Stephen for sharing. I'm getting my first cup of coffee for the day and that truly inspired me. I feel good about my music and what I do. This is who I am and I'm very proud of it.

Peace,

That's great! I know for myself, I have recently returned to songwriting and it has helped me enormously. I didn't appreciate it's value to me until I started again after a decade long absence.

I have forwarded this link to my brother, also a songwriter, as we have often had this discussion - why do you write? what is it you're hoping to acheive? I write because I can. Because it is indeed an expression of what I'm feeling at a point in time. But as the article says, everyone has a different reason and takes a different path... and after all, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
