Are resumes effective?

Post by elser » Mon Jun 09, 2014 2:03 pm

How many of you who are doing anything professionally in the music business have landed the job from a resume? Everything I have ever done has been the result of referrals. Just wondering.

I was pretty impressed that a library actually contacted me on my Linkedin page and signed some songs.

I would definitely build a page and reach out to as many people you don't even know. Oh yeh, and make sure you have a link to your material so they can hear it.

Good luck,
:D

Dear Jon,

This is an interesting Question !

Hector had a really good Resumé, done by a Journalist. A wee bit similar to a Review. See the TAXI Pages below in the Signature.

I suspect that a good Resumé is appropriate and conducive, before, during and after success, when well done that is.
Because the Public, or the Listeners, or the Supervisors, Producers, Libraries, love NOT to be in a no man's land.

Who are you ?
Where do you come from ?
How were you brought up ?
How old are you ?
How did the Music come to you ?
Where does the fondness of your fellow Musicians and Public come from ?
What did you do to bring about success ?
What is your originality and your special skill/niche ?
What makes you confident ?

Etc, etc, etc

When it is well done, it is similar to opening one's door and to listen, and to make a new Friend !

We all want our Musicians to become our Friends, so a little bit of knowledge about them greatly helps.

Good Question, yes, thank you dear Jon :) ;)

It is really something to be impressed about, dear Peter, well done indeed.

I mean, ... who can resist your Music ? And I say so very sincerely.

Like your new Avatar, dear Peter.
