Instrument definitions for Addictive Drums?

Post by jazzstan » Mon Jun 09, 2014 5:35 pm

Sonar users... is there an ".ins" file for addictive drums? Might apply to other DAWS, too. The .ins file has a definition for each key that corresponds to the instruments in a patch, such as C=kick, D=Snare E=rimshot, etc, etc. etc. I can't find one for the Addictive Drums. I've written my own before (for a Proteus 2000 ... a tedious PITA). Any suggestions?

I'd take this one to XLN's forum or KVR, if you find no joy here, Stan. I'd love to help, but I'm not a Sonar user.

Keymap is what you are looking for, I don't know about addictive drums, but most drum samplers have choices of keymaps like GM, GS, AD, their own proprietary, imap etc.

If you didn't want to make a preset in Sonar for addictive drums, just print out the pdf, set the keymap in addictive drums to the addictive drums keymap, and enter the midi notes from the pdf into sonar.

I use the built in 'Map Presets' show in this short video:

I finally had the time to surf the web until i found this....

The AD2.INS file is in a downloadble link at the top of the page. And it has all the instructions, too.
