A tip I came across and liked, is , if you have access to them (and you should, even if it is free ones) is when doing multiple or stereo guitar parts, using amp sims from different manufacturers to help with separation, i.e. amplitude, and maybe digi free or NI guitar rig.

Balancing the right amount of distortion is a challenge. It seems even more true of recording guitars, but recording at the sweet spot of -18 or thereabouts helps tremendously.

A new 1 hr mix example - this time in Pro Tools 12 but applicable to any DAW.

Hope you enjoy it!

Loving your newsletter so far, especially the "6 trouble frequencies" which I have half memorised!

Great!

I also love the way you spelled memorized as spell check on US computers turns it to memorized. Makes me misty for my home in Canada.
