Recommended Reverb.......?

Post by SteveJCurtis » Wed Jul 02, 2014 7:19 pm

I expect this is an oft asked question, but any recommendations on a good reverb plug in that can cover spring-type reverb for guitars and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
I am using Reaper DAW and have Reaverb. I use it for most things I do but sometimes I want a spring with simple controls.
Grateful any comments.
Best/Steve

PSP has one that's cheap and works real well.
I use it all the time on guitars.
It has a high pass and other goodies.

Classic Studio Reverb from IK Multimedia. It rocks!

I picked it up for 40EU on sale, and it beats everything else I have.
Nice dense sounding, and nice and thight in a mix.

It does have some knobs for tweaking, but comes with a truckload of presets that works well right out of the box.
I seriously doubt you can find better on this side of Universal Audio and Altiverb.

Honestly, I haven't found any digital spring emulations that have the essential drip and the proper amount of murk. Most are too clean, but Strymon's Flint pedal comes pretty close.

another spring type verb is available from Overloud.

http://overloud.com/products/SpringAge.php

sure the Universal audio ones are top notch (got em, all of them, the reverbs that is) but buying the card and everything in addition isn't for everyone.

how's it going LSJ?

obviously more control at mix time (using plugins), but also remember the source...

that is, you could also just record the guitar part through an old fender amp. now THERE'S your real spring reverb.

yes, i'm biased, ha!
