Midi Chords
Hi Guys, Since I dont play keyboard and can't play chords etc I was wondering if there was some midi chord vst thing out there? Or maybe at least some like keyboard/piano chord samples I could throw on some pads and play them that way?
I know I should learn keyboard. I do plan on taking some piano lessons. But in the meantime something like sample or midi based would help a lot.
Thanks.

Re: Midi Chords
Thanks. I have ezkeys grand piano but it wasnt working for me as I prefer to write as I perform. programming cuts off my creative flow. I guess I could use it to make all the basic chords, run them all through a decent piano vst, export each chord as wav file and then load them onto Cubase's Groove Agent pads and play them like that.
Basically I want to assign all the pop type chords to each key on my midi keyboard and play chord progressions that way...
Can that be done?

I don't know if you have ever used Ableton, but that software has some cool built in midi effects that will create arpeggios and harmonies.
What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail?

actually the other product, the harmonizer would be closer to what you are looking for.
or this: http://www.xferrecords.com/products/cthulhu
or even the Korg Nano pad. you can program one pad to play all the keys in a chord at the same time.
Another method is that you can make midi files of the chords yourself.

Yes, 7 Aliens Harmonizer will do what you want. Catanya is the next step. It creates patterns from chords that are fed to it.
But on the topic of arpeggiators, I recently found a new one that works on the same concept as Catanya but is far more powerful.

Re: Midi Chords
Thanks guys. Will check those links out. Much appreciated.
Hector that seems easier. Ok so I really only need to learn 24 chords then. I think I can do that. Thanks.
