The Dispatch fire rages on! Got another quick deal!

Post by VanderBoegh » Fri Aug 01, 2014 4:53 pm

A few weeks ago I tossed together a tension track for the Dispatch listing below. Within just a few days, I got the forward. And a few days after that, got contacted by the publisher. Faster than a speeding bullet! I spent the last week working on 12 additional tracks for the show this company is servicing, and they accepted all of them into their catalog.

Thankfully, screener 351 had faith in this cue, even though I might have gone a little overboard. Here's what was on my critique:

"This is a high quality cue, with lots of tension-inducing elements. I worry a little that you might have overdone it - taking 'tension-filled' into 'tension-overflowing' territory, but it certainly deserves a forward. Good job!" The song is called "Bump in the Night", and it's on my Taxi page.

This has been a action-packed summer for me, having signed 5 new publishing deals since late April. Hopefully this roller-coaster isn't on it's way back down anytime soon!

Here's the listing: TENSION FILLED ORCHESTRAL CUES are needed by a Hollywood Music Supervisor who’s in expansion mode with her new Production Music Library. She’s hunting for Tension Cues in All Tempos. Quoting the source: “We can use either Mystery Suspense cues, or Epic Cues. Tension is what’s key here. Rhythmic drums and strings are definitely a plus, but we do NOT want anything that is driving.” Give her a full sounding production that will add a sense of apprehension or urgency to a scene. Think of the anxiety one feels before an epic battle, or even how you feel when you hear a noise downstairs at night and your heart begins to race.

Dear Mat,

Congratulations indeed ! :) ;)

I am listening to : "Bump in the Night". It is very good ! The Musical Ideas are intelligent and original. I am writing this at 3.20 am in the night, I have opened my Window because it is hot, and with my HeadPhones on I cannot hear a sound from outside ... Oooops, I am a little scared. :o  :?

Your Music is genial for that type of ambiance.

And I am very impressed with your capability of composing 12 Tracks in a week. It is a "Tour de Force". Don't know how you do it. You must have composed about 2 Tracks a day. I know that they are not very long, but still, and also now, you know what the publisher is looking for, although, of course, the Listing was very explicit.
