Insight on Disney-esque Instrumental Listing #Y140812DO...

Post by jeromerossen » Sat Aug 02, 2014 10:13 pm

Hi there-
I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts on the direction of Listing #TAXI # Y140812DO (Adventurous, Disney-esque Orchestral Instrumentals.

I thought I had a pretty good idea of what the listing is looking for, until I listened to the trailers and some clips from the referenced movies! They are all three very different! Perhaps music like any of those would work?

I’m leaning toward a direction somewhat like this:

Wondering whether anyone can share any insight on what they’re planning on…

Thanks!

Jerome

Listing # Y140812DO
-- ADVENTUROUS, DISNEY-ESQUE ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a Music Library for Film Trailers. They need family-friendly instrumentals you'd hear in Trailers for films like Treasure Planet, Big Hero 6, Enchanted, etc. Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals will work best for this pitch. Your Instrumentals should sound big, bold, a bit playful, and have a courageous sounding melody that's instantly engaging. Give them great sounding Tracks with realistic sounding instruments and lots of emotional dynamics. Buttoned endings are preferred, but not absolutely necessary. This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 split. You'll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Writer's share. They'll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

I'm starting to dabble in this genre, too. Not as easy as you think! I recently had this my track "The Arrival" accepted in another library looking for a magical/fairy-tale pieces.

Yes, the Fired Earth examples are amazing!

Dear Jerome,

My God, there is so much to read in the Link that you have provided, watching the Video :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvgyXKDXdZY

Disney will always go along with the signs of time.

Having said that, here is an outstanding example of "DISNEY-ESQUE ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS", in my view.
Look for it, it is called "Mystic Dance" I just find it sublime :

I know, it is a tall order, but it is inspiration as well.

Next, there is the very tricky dilemma : how much the Music is going to inspire the Movie, OR, how much the Movie is going to inspire the Music.

There is only one way to solve this, and this is to work in concordance. To work together. On the spot and in the same place.
