Not your typical success story you see here, but cool to me.

A while back I had written a track that had as an ala an ambient post rock group (actually a solo effort) by the Album Leaf. This track, while not right for that listing, went on to become one of my more popular tracks on another site, but more importantly, introduced me to a genre, that at least in royalty free sites, has earned me enough in the last few months to pay for an entire year of Taxi membership . One my southern rock tracks is on track - based on views, small sales and the fact that every library I have offered it to so far has picked it up - is on track to do something decent, I can just "smell " it. Honestly my first couple years here, were, er, instrumental in teaching me about the business and honing my production skills into at least presentable shape (via Peer To Peer , Taxi TV and reviews of my stuff). When my stuff starts getting placed next year (and it will come hell or high water ha ha) I'll be back with even juicier news. But for now THANKS TAXI!

Chuck, this is great! Sounds like you're really getting some good residual income on those royalty-free services. I haven't even attempted this avenue of money-making, but I probably should. Sounds like it's lucrative enough to at least pad your income stream.

Keep up the great work!

It is , and mixing it up seems to be something a lot of other composers do, but will probably tell you most of their money comes from tv and film placements. At least that is what I am reading. Still not landing that elusive tv placement but really working gat planting those seeds this year. We'll see I suppose.

Hi neighbor, congrats chuck!
Post rock is a great genre that I haven't written for yet.
I'm glad you are doing well with it.

Good luck to you!

Kevin

Thanks guys. Check out the Deep Focus playlist on Spotify, or Instrumental tracks to Work By. Really good stuff.

https://soundcloud.com/chuck-mott If you scroll down to cor[porate the track A New Leaf is there. Chill pill has sold , a "bed " version of Half Irish, stingers of dinosaur shake and blue streak, a track called Acoustitronica which seems to no longer be there. I don't post everything up on sound cloud anymore, just select stuff as of late. I have requests out to libraries to check stuff out on that page....
