Re: Conflicted Life - REVISED AGAIN
Hey Casey,
I'm probably the furthest thing from an expert, but the most recent version you posted sounds like a forward to me (for the right listing of course).
For myself, I feel like I want the chorus to lift a little more. I don't have tons of ideas on how to do that. Maybe an electric doing single strums?
I remember going to Guy Marshall's class at the last Road Rally and he was big on using a shaker. I recently watched something on Tom Petty and the making of "Refugee" and he talked about how the addition of a shaker really pushed the song forward.
I'm also hearing some slight timing differences with the instruments, particularly in the chorus and bridge. The snare/drums may be just a little too far behind the beat for my liking, but that's just me. It seems to hold the song back a little.
I really like the lyrics, vocals and overall I think it's a great song.
Nice work!

Re: Conflicted Life - REVISED AGAIN
I know this comes late in the your game on this song but my two cents are:
I really like the first two lines of the bridge and think they would work and flow really well
as the first two lines of the chorus and then with some re-writing for the next few lines before the title.
I think the question comes as good place for me to want to sing and be in the song.
Really nice work though it's all there.
Good luck.
Andy

Re: Conflicted Life - REVISED AGAIN
sounding really good..
@ .30 theres some weird snare/tom rolls different from the main snare.. seems distracting
@ 2.30ish break.. would love to hear a small faint solo/dobo/slide thing going to the chorus for more of a build up..
wish i could do this outside the box for my stuff...
hope that helps..
