library/ascap/titling questions

Post by rdance » Tue Sep 09, 2014 11:47 am

i recently got 13 songs signed to one library. i have not yet registered any of the songs with ascap. the library will re-title each song and register with ascap as publisher, with me as writer.

do i also need to register with ascap under the original song titles, as writer? or do i not really need to do anything?

Richard,

The library will register the tracks. You don't need to do anything.

However, some libraries do not register tracks. The registration of the tracks occurs when the PRO receives a cue sheet.

Thanks for asking this question Richard. I've wondered about that myself!
