Rally networking session

Dear Michael,
Love the Road Rally; we were there last year and will attend this year.
We were watching Taxi TV last Monday and noted your observation that at last year’s Rally attendees were neglecting some of the presentations/classes in favor of gathering to network in the hotel bar. We attended the Rally and noticed also that the bar area could become quite crowded, which was an issue in itself. It occurred to us that a dedicated Rally network session exclusive of regularly scheduled program might be in order for the purpose of allowing those who would like to just mingle and network the opportunity to do so. This session could also provide a networking opportunity for industry people who could not attend otherwise due to time constraints. Maybe this has been done before, but we feel this could be a good resource for those who would just like to network and not miss any of the regularly scheduled program. I’m sure you are aware of ways it could be more casual and not such a sometimes-forced situation. Our recollection last year was of sitting for long periods of time in usually overcrowded rooms, so the opportunity to stand and informally mingle with others would have been a welcome addition.
