Congratulations Orest, quite an achievement! Not only do you now have a bitchin' computer but you also know exactly what's going on inside it.

Re: Building a Hackintosh
Apple is now soldering ssd drives to the motherboard. What are we supposed to do if that ssd goes bad after Apples's warranty runs out, change the motherboard??? I'm seriously considering a Hackintosh so I don't have to relearn another DAW. Not to mention converting all my AU plugins to VST

Re: Building a Hackintosh
You're correct and that's why I finally decided to go with the 2019 base model. It's Open box an includes Apple care so I should be good for the next 5 to 7 years after which I'll be able to switch out the CPU and Storage if needed. With the money I saved on the Open box, I can upgrade the RAM and buy an external SSD like the Sonnet Fusion Dual 2.5-inch SSD RAID if needed. Depending on what the future holds, this might be my last dance with Applegabgar wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 6:12 pmEven Hackintosh will be a thing of the past.ChrisEmond wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 11:07 amApple is now soldering ssd drives to the motherboard.
