Baila Baby - new tropical jazz orchestral dance piece

Post by remmet » Thu Sep 18, 2014 3:21 am

I haven't posted much on P2P lately, but I thought I'd post this bit of zaniness. It's a co-write with a Portland friend named Richard Moore. He wrote the initial melodic and harmonic ideas and I developed them further and did the arranging/orchestration. I'm not sure if this is destined for a library or if we'll try to shop it around on our own.

I don't really know if this fits into any one genre. It's sort of a tropical jazz orchestral dance hybrid piece.

Any reactions?

Hey Richard,

first of all cool pic. This is a great tropical film score instrumental. I can imagine it in a feeling good island adventure movies. But it could also work for a movie that plays in africa in my opinion. I`m not sure if it`s jazz.

great work.

Best Regards,
Axel

Thanks guys! This was a fun - and challenging - project. I'm glad it turned out well.

Andy - the bass was from one of the fretless patches in Trilian.

Thanks for listening!

Richard & Richard say "Thanks, Richard!"

I think, however, that we'll politely decline your suggestion for our songwriting team name.

Really delightful piece Richard, can't add to what's been said, just a 'yea verily...' Best of luck with this one.
