CHURCH-FRIENDLY, CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP- Planning to Submit

Post by divinorivera » Sat Sep 20, 2014 12:25 pm

Hi,
I am planning to submit to this listing but would like first to know your thoughts about my song. Please check on Loved Me (version 2) on my Taxi page. http://www.taxi.com/divinorivera

CHURCH-FRIENDLY, CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a HUGE Christian Record Label pitching to the gifted artists on their A-List roster. They're really eager to find Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs that could be found on the same playlist as "Our God" by Chris Tomlin, "Revelation Song" by Kari Jobe, "Mighty to Save" by Hillsong Worship, etc. Give them songs that could be heard in a Mega Church setting, with catchy contemporary melodies, overt Christian lyrics, and a wonderfully big chorus that compels the audience raise their hands and rejoice. Acoustic-based demos are welcome for this pitch, but your recording quality (even for stripped-down demos) needs to be clean, clear, well balanced, and good enough to represent your song well.

Loved Me (Lyrics)

How far would you go
Into the earth to find my soul
How deep would you reach
When valleys require death to walk though
How wide would you stretch
Your arms for such a sinner like me
And how high would you rise
To save me from this darkness

CHORUS:
You’ve loved me more than I could imagine
Treasured me more than angels in heaven
Saved me ‘cause I couldn’t save myself
And you’ve laid your life down
And you’ve laid your life down
For me

How much love would you pour
When blood it takes to ransom me
And how much pain would you bear
To win my heart bound by sin and shame
But how strong you’ve endured
This death and overcome the grave
And oh so glorified
You’ve risen to the skies

Bridge:
We’re singing, we’re singing
Amazing, amazing
We’re singing, we’re singing
How sweet the grace that found me

Sounds to me like you're right on target for the listing;
I'll be surprised if you do NOT get both the forward and the acceptance.
Very well done. :)
Cheers.

Peter,
Surprised to have an initial feedback that is all positive. Thanks. Deadline's Sept 22.

All,
Anything else I need to catch up on before my final submission?

This feels to me like a really well written modern worship song. I think all the elements are in place. Wasn't sure I felt quite enough lift in the chorus; above and beyond the verses, but some of that could be arranged and this is just a demo to pitch to a label. Nice work, and best of luck with it!
