30 sec EDM Sports Cue Forward
Hi Guys,
Just heard my 30 sec sports cue "Fastball" was forwarded to a Major Sports Network.
U140916EC
PROPULSIVE, ELECTRONIC DANCE (EDM) INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Supervisor at a Major Sports TV Network that’s looking to give a facelift to their Sports News show/segments. They’re on the hunt to find Up-Tempo EDM Cues in the stylistic wheelhouse of artists like: Avicii, Calvin Harris, Lana Del Rey ft. Cedric Gervais, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the build up and instrumental breaks of the following songs to get a solid idea of the type of cue they need: “Wake Me Up” by Avicii “Summer” by Calvin Harris “Summertime Sadness” by Lana Del Rey ft. Cedric Gervais Quoting the source: “We only need short cues that are NO longer than 30 seconds. Simple, repetitive cues that have a TRIUMPHANT sound will work really well. We want a fresh new take on the typical news-based music you hear, but WITHOUT the strings and big theatrical drums.” Okay, so we know that they need EDM Cues that last only 30 seconds (29.5 seconds including ring out/reverb tail), and they need those Cues to be in the 122-126 BPM range. We’d recommend NO INTRO – get right into the meat of the piece from the get-go! You could lead in with a short “drop,” or build, then right into a very hooky section that resembles a triumphant chorus with a simple repetitive melody, and a propulsive, forward-moving beat. You’d be smart to give your piece a stinger/buttoned ending that’s ascending, NOT descending. That could be anti-climactic. This Cue could potentially be used for the show’s lead in or Theme, so you want the “finish” to be a tah-dah! That, of course will lead into the talking head saying something like, “And welcome to Sports Shorts,” or whatever the show is called. Cues not selected for the show’s opening could also be used elsewhere in the show, including bumpers, etc., so they may need cut-downs (5, 10, 15 second edits) at a later date. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. The estimated license fee for this is $250-$500. That could change if your Cue is chosen to be the show’s Theme (we’re guessing). This is a Direct-To-Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% of your Copyright and Master ownership, 100% of the License fee, plus you’ll also get 100% of any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumental Cues no later than 2pm (PDT, on TUESDAY, September 16th, 2014. TAXI #U140916EC

Re: 30 sec EDM Sports Cue Forward
Thanks guys.
Lots of forwards but no calls yet. Hope they can get through on these terrible phone lines we got in the island. Most of the time I have a hard time reaching someone on the island. and its a 7x21 mile island! lol

Re: 30 sec EDM Sports Cue Forward
hehe! yeah... when I say "hope you get the call" I mean that in an esoteric sort of way.... kinda like a throw-back to the days when we used our phones for talking... not Facebook, Text, Email, GPS, Banking....andygabrys wrote:nice one!
